Final Day in Osaka

Today was our last day in Osaka. We spent most of the morning doing our laundry. Then for the rest of the day we went back into Den Den Town. We managed to cover much more ground and found some more goodies. We found this really cool Hobby Store called "Yellow Submarine". Colin and I both picked up a board game there. We also stopped by the Tourist Information Booth and picked up a key chain of the districts mascot.

We concluded the day by going to a Maid Cafe which was an interesting experience. You are not allowed to take pictures inside or around the store. The cafe was called "e-Maid" and all the waitresses were dressed in a maid uniform. It is hard to really sum up the experience, but it was very interesting.

After the cafe we returned to our hotel to pack up and prepare for a photo with the hotel manager. He asked for a photo to use to help promote his hotel and we were happy to oblige.

Daily sign and vending machine

We found this vending machine on the main street. It is decorated with the district mascot.

I think this was a sign about keeping the street clean.

Epic Gundam.

Some other random pictures.

Sorry no pictures of the pick ups. This is a quick post! It was a fun day. Hopefully I can get my debit card working.

  1. I want to point out that the "neon" vending machine was one of the only ones that sold the drink Calpis. It is a unique drink, that is yogurt flavoured. After trying it, I was inspired to buy a big container of it at a local 7-11.
