Our travels took us today to another giant Buddha, as well as China Town.
The Buddha was in Kamakura. It was outdoors, and was quite impressive to see.
Bram added for scale ;).
It was also hollow, and for 20 yen, you could walk inside to see it from the inside. There was a flock of kids, many of which came inside of the Buddha as well.
Natchan!, the world's friendliest apple drink. We were initially afraid it was just carbonated apple juice, but not only was it not carbonated, it was actually quite delicious apple cider.
Our first view of Chinatown in Yokohama.
Chinatown was a very interesting place. It is interesting to consider the differences between Japan and China, despite their geographic proximity, compared to a Chinatown you might see in North America.
We had dinner in Chinatown, which actually turned out quite well. I had some vegetable noodles, which I quite enjoyed. Our waiter spoke very fluent English, to the point where we felt compelled to ask him if he had lived in America previously. He told us that he had studied English, but had lived in Japan for his whole life.
