Exploring Kyoto

Today we went to some of the local shrines and areas in Kyoto.

The main attraction was Kiyomizu Dera temple.

An interesting section. You go into a pitch-black room, following a rope to get to a prayer stone, then are led back out. For obvious reasons, I don't have any pictures of the inside.
Inside the main area of the temple. You needed to take your shoes off to go in here.
One of two "Love Stones"; the idea was to walk between the two with your eyes closed. If you could, good things would happen for you.
Similar to the hand-washing stations at most temples, except larger. There was a big line to do this.
As always, the temple grounds were extremely nice and picturesque.

We also explored some of the regions of Kyoto. I am already pretty picture-heavy in this post though, so I will leave it to your imagination. Kyoto is a nice looking city.
